MICHAEL BORESKIE BA, MARCH, MAA
Michael Boreskie is an architect, facilitator, artist and liturgical design consultant in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada. He is indebted to the thousands of people in nine Christian traditions across Canada and in the United States with whom he has worked during the past 30 years.
Michael co-authored Our Place of Worship, published by the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops, as a planning guide for use in parishes throughout Canada. The guide is based on the participatory and inclusive process Michael developed for working with congregations. Michael is a member of the Architectural Resource Group (ARG) of the United Church of Canada and a member of The Conference for Pastoral Planning & Council Development (CPPCD) centred in St. Louis, Missouri.
In addition to his private practice Michael has spent many years as a design studio critic and programming instructor in the graduate program of the Faculty of Architecture at the University of Manitoba.

- Master of Architecture, University of Manitoba, 1981:
- Preparation of 120 page examination of the history of church architecture, concentrating on the interrelationship between building form and the forms of worship and ritual.
- Development of a design methodology which allows church building committees to actively ensure that both qualitative and quantitative needs are resolved. The methodology aims at bridging the gap between design personnel who normally have no theological training, and the theologian who normally has no architectural training.
- Application of the design methodology in research context to the design of a new St. Mary’s Cathedral for Winnipeg.
